Test taking suggestions:

During the days/weeks of testing, please make sure look at these suggestions to help you complete your tests to the best of your ability.

  1.     Get a good night's sleep so you are well rested on the day of the test.
  2.     Eat a good, healthy breakfast so you don't get hungry during the test.  A growling stomach can take your concentration away from the test.
  3.     Be to school on time so you don't miss any part of the test.

Testing

Benchmark Assessment (BAS)
    - Reading test given by the teacher in an individualized setting.  Students will read a short book, with a portion of the book read aloud.  The student will then tell about the story, sometimes answering questions.  Completed in September and in May to determine reading level.

Nebraska State Assesment (NeSA)
    -  These tests are a state requirement.  They are completed on the computer, either in the lab or the portable lab.  The tests are based off the state standards.
  •  Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science

Criterion Reference Tests (CRTs)-
     - These are tests completed by the students after instruction over specific standards and objectives that are required by state standards.  These tests are comprehensive tests, in that they will be over many topics covered within the school year to see what knowledge students have retained.
  •     Math
  •     Language Arts
  •     Science
  •     Social Studies

Chapter Tests

   -  These will take place after chapters to determine what the child learned during the instruction for that particular topic.  Some will be open book, some partner or group tests, some individual.
